Effective date: 2026-10-26 · Applies to QuietReload version 1.1.0 for Google Chrome (7-day free trial, then a one-time purchase of US$1.99).
Summary
QuietReload never reads web pages, page addresses (URLs), page titles or your browsing history, and it cannot: it has no website (host) permission and no tabs permission. The developer does not run any server and receives no data from the extension. During the free trial the extension makes no network requests. If you buy or restore a purchase, the payment is handled by ExtensionPay (extensionpay.com) and Stripe, and the extension then checks your purchase status with ExtensionPay.
What the extension stores on your device
Timers: for each tab you start a timer on, the internal tab number Chrome assigns, the interval, the time of the next reload and a reload count. Kept in chrome.storage.session and deleted when you stop the timer, close the tab, or quit the browser.
Trial start date: the date and time you first pressed Start, used to count the 7-day trial. Kept in chrome.storage.local.
Cached purchase status: whether you have paid and when, so the extension keeps working offline. Kept in chrome.storage.local.
ExtensionPay data (only after you press Buy or Restore purchase): the payment library bundled in the extension (ExtPay.js) stores a random key that identifies this browser to ExtensionPay, and the purchase record it receives from ExtensionPay (paid status, payment date and the email address you used). It keeps these in chrome.storage.sync. If Chrome Sync is turned on, Chrome syncs this storage through your Google account to your other signed-in browsers, as it does for any extension using chrome.storage.sync.
Uninstalling the extension deletes all of the above from that browser.
Payments: ExtensionPay and Stripe
When you press Buy, the extension asks ExtensionPay for a key for this browser and opens ExtensionPay's payment page in a new tab. You enter your email address and card details on pages run by ExtensionPay and Stripe. QuietReload never sees your card number.
When you press Restore purchase, ExtensionPay's sign-in page opens, where you confirm the email address you paid with.
After that, when you open the popup or press check again, the extension sends its key to https://extensionpay.com to ask whether this browser has paid. It sends nothing about your tabs or the websites you visit.
ExtensionPay and Stripe process your email address and payment details under their own terms and privacy policies: extensionpay.com and stripe.com/privacy. The developer can see in the ExtensionPay and Stripe dashboards the email address and payment details needed to provide receipts, refunds and support.
Permissions
alarms: a periodic wake-up so timers keep running when Chrome pauses the extension's background worker.
storage: to keep the data described above on your device.
Contacting extensionpay.com does not need an extra permission. Chrome shows no permission warning when you install QuietReload.
What the extension does not do
No analytics, tracking, advertising or cookies of its own.
No reading or changing of any web page.
No remote code. All code, including the ExtensionPay library, is included in the extension package.
No selling of data. Data is used only to provide the reload feature and to unlock it after purchase.
Chrome Web Store User Data Policy
QuietReload's handling of data complies with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Email and payment information is used only to process and verify your purchase.
Changes
If a future version changes how data is handled, this policy will be updated before that version is released.
